Lytham Academy
As a club we recognised the sometimes huge gulf between the latter stages of junior cricket and the senior set up, resulting in the Academy team being born 3 years ago.
Being designed as a bridge between the two, helping the kids learn about the longer format of the game and getting them ready for senior cricket.
Playing in the Sunday league within the Palace Shield, coached by our full time head coach Danny Gilbert, www.fyldecoastcricketcoaching.co.uk, accompanied on match days by ‘willing’, ‘experienced’ parents gives a hugely important platform for the kids to gain that confidence to make the step up into senior cricket.
Has been a genuine please to see the kids coming through this structure going on to play Sunday 1st team cricket and Saturday 2 XI games befitting hugely from the Academy set up.
Is great for the parents too, come and enjoy the sunshine and a couple of drinks on a sunny afternoon at the club watching the world go by and also watching the kids develop in this wonderful sport.
